Today we went to the One Book, Two Book festival in Iowa City. The highlight was Andrew having his face painted. The first year we went to the festival Andrew really loved interacting with all the authors in small groups. The festival has changed somewhat and it doesn't seem to be as interactive as it was. We did meet Lauren Long, the author of Otis, and that was pretty cool. Andrew seemed very interested in the illustrations.
Abigail's favorite part of the day was going down the slide at the library. She also liked to take books off the shelf and then walk away. Fun for her, but not for me ;)

-50 degrees out!
School was cancelled today due to extreme temperatures! Wow is it windy outside. Nelson went in to work but we stayed nice and warm in the house. We played, did art and acted silly.

A fun evening of bowling
We enjoyed getting out of the house and going bowling with the Pfeiffer's. this was Abigail's first real trip bowling and she really enjoyed high fiving after bowling with Nelson. Andrew played a great game and actually won, boy was he excited! The popcorn was a hit and I think all the kids were more into the snacks than the bowling.

New Year's Day
We rang in the New Year enjoying a snowy Iowa day! After a long trip back from Christmas vacation we all took it easy. Abigail enjoyed watching the Rose Bowl parade, multiple times! Every time she wanted to see it again she would act like she was playing a trumpet.
